Floating hollow bodies such as pontoons are susceptible to corrosion, which permanently impairs their buoyancy. An elegant way of remediation is to fill the hollow bodies, pontoons with casting foam. This foam is very firm and stable and creates a high buoyancy. The foam itself does not absorb water.
